Jian LIU

Profile

Mr. Liu holds a Master of Engineering degree in Instrument Science and Technology from Tianjin University, is qualified as a Chinese patent attorney, holds the Senior Intellectual Property Professional title and has passed the advanced patent search examination.

From 2015 to 2023 he worked for nine years as a substantive examiner of invention patents at the Tianjin Center of the Patent Examination Cooperation Center of the Patent Office of CNIPA, examining more than one thousand applications. During that period he served as a bureau-level quality evaluator, as head of a departmental quality assurance group, and for several years as a quality inspector at both center and department level and as a center quality supervisor, giving him first-hand command of examination standards and of the threshold applied in grant and validity proceedings.

He now heads the KEWEIP Tianjin Branch and specialises in patent searching, validity analysis, reexamination and invalidation, FTO, patent drafting and patent navigation.
